Welcome to Our Website!
Woodland Ridge Farm is a small farm located near the Wachusett Reservoir in Central Massachusetts. Our current sites are in Holden, Boylston and Lancaster. We grow fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers using sustainable farming practices. We grow all our own plants and specialize in a wide variety of flowers and floral craft. We are a farming family with over a forty-year history of working the soil with fourteen years participation in farmers' markets. Our mission is to share our joy of working with plants and their health-giving benefits while offering fresh, top quality products.
Practices and Growing Standards
Our farming practices are sustainable and are based on our respect of the earth. One of our goals is to build healthy nutrient-rich soil. We strive to be good stewards and regularly add compost, mulch and worms. We do NOT use chemical pesticides or herbicides. We interplant, rotate crops, attract birds, use bait crops, row covers, beneficial insects, and are not afraid to hand pick unwanted visitors. We use raised beds and self-watering containers with enriched growing medium. Our bees enjoy working many of the plants that we grow. We are continuing to grow lettuce hydroponically this year.
Special Interests
One of our special interests is bringing the enjoyment and health benefits of gardening to everyone - especially the physically challenged. "Madison's Tips" above will give you more information on removing barriers and offer new ideas each week on current gardening topics.
We enjoy striving to grow the freshest, most nutritious produce for you that we can, using natural sustainable methods. Our flowers are also grown using the same methods to bring you increased color, fragrance, and a bouquet that you can trust to be safe to smell and put on the table near your food.
The Westminster Farmers' Market is open from the first Friday in May through the end of October. Thanks to all of you who come out to enjoy the bounty of locally grown slow food! We still have entertainment from the gazebo every week!
