Container Gardening Opens Up Many Possibilities

7/20/2015

Some of us don’t have room for a garden.  Others find it difficult to leave their porches or decks.  Others want to add a little extra gardening space – near the back door or are trying to keep plants out of the reach of hungry animals.  One solution is growing in containers.  They can add beauty to your deck or doorstep and fresh herbs just outside your door.

What have you successfully grown in containers?  Please post what has worked for you.  Inspire others to try something new by sharing your ideas and pictures.

One of my neighbors moved and left behind some plants, flowers and soil. The flowers had almost died. Since everything was there and I felt badly for the plants I decided to adopt them.I wanted to rescue the plants, but I was very nervous even touching them. This was my first time to handle soil, and my first experience planting anything. I worked with the flowers – and they did well. Since then, I have added tomatoes, and peppers.Every morning it is so pleasant to see what change and growth has happened since the day before. It is very peaceful and I have found it both therapeutic and stress relieving. Now I have almost fifty tomatoes! - A Happy City Girl
